Our Program

Resident Phase System

Our curriculum is more than a program; it's a journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening. We are committed to providing a safe, loving, and accepting environment where women are valued and empowered to rebuild their lives. Through the grace of Christ, our participants learn to embrace self-forgiveness, nurture safe relationships, and step into a future filled with hope and purpose.

PHASE 1

CONSECRATION

Humbled Hearts Recovery welcomes women recovering from addiction, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and negative belief systems into a safe, and supportive environment. Our home provides a bridge between substance abuse and mental health treatment centers and the independent maintenance of long-term sobriety.
There is a minimum 30-day, Phase 1 introductory period upon entering the recovery residence, during which time newcomers must assimilate with their peers at Humbled Hearts Recovery. There can be no on-site contact with family or friends during the first 30 days. Separation allows the new resident a respite following the period of withdrawal from addictions that once captivated their heart, mind, soul and strength. Residents must attend a minimum of (3) 12-step meetings per week, as well as be introduced to the Humbled Hearts Recovery curriculum, obtain/maintain full-time employment, and abide by the set forth curfew.

DEMONSTRATION

Detoxification opens the door to the purification of your heart and mind.
At this phase of recovery, residents focus on developing an intimate relationship with God as well as with each other. With a strong emphasis on the study of God’s Word, teaching and discussions are centered around each person understanding their identity in Christ. Assistance is given to link with resources for multiple types of support such as AA, NA, OA, EA, CoDA, etc. Residents are expected to acquire a 12-Step sponsor, actively work the 12 Steps of recovery in the fellowship of their choice, and begin attending Sunday church service (in-person), every other week, at a fellowship of their choice.

PHASE 2

ALLEVIATION

God's compassion tempers the unbearable pain and suffering of rejection and self-betrayal. The assertion of self-preservation is gone. Your interpretation of life is viewed in fellowship with the creator – coexisting with his creations. You realize that you are fully known, accepted, and loved. Discussions on grace and forgiveness leading to conversion to a spirit of excellence. Curriculum teaching also includes discussion on shame and condemnation vs. guilt and conviction.

POVERTY

Understanding and initiating proper grief management. There is a need for pause and reflection on the life and relationships lost to addiction and management of the present gift of life, alongside hope for a prosperous future. Residents are eligible to move forward to Phase 4 after a minimum 90 days of successful completion of Phases 1-3. Phase 4 welcomes the following additional structures and privileges: residents are expected to join a serve team (giving) to offset the grief of loss and actively participate in a home group. Curfew will be extended to 10:00 PM and residents are now eligible for Overnight Passes with prior CRRA approval.

PHASE 3

ASSURANCE

Spiritual nourishment from daily prayer and reading God’s word will validate your new identity and increase your faith. An 8-week Life Skills course is made available (including but not limited to resume building and monetary management) to improve skill building for the journey ahead. They will also review proper nutrition and enhance cooking skills.

REMEMBRANCE

There is recognition. You remember God as your creator. You realize that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You understand and appreciate your individuality. You embrace that God desires a relationship with you. Grateful obedience is expressed through purposeful service. Residents are eligible to move forward to Phase 6 after a minimum 60 days of successful completion of Phases 4-5. Residents in Phase 6 will be expected to abide by the same expectations as Phase 5 with the following exceptions and privileges: attend a minimum of (2) 12-step meetings per week and continue to attend the weekly Humbled Hearts Recovery on-site meetings, as well as focus on volunteerism and recognition of purpose through serving others. Curfew will be extended to 11:00 PM. If not already in fulfilling employment, residents should seek and apply for employment elsewhere, discuss and pursue hobbies to create connections with others and slowly integrate into the community, and begin the search for permanent housing.

PHASE 4

AGGRESSION

Patience ensues. You intentionally align with your season, leading to a willingness to employ self-discipline. This will require work. Consistent, intentional change will rebirth a new you: wiser, stronger, and more resilient. Transformation (the mindset “shift”)* is now complete: whatever mindset held you enslaved to addictions, false ideas, and imaginations is now obsolete. Residents in this phase will be expected to abide by the same expectations as Phase 6 with the following additions and privileges: acquire permanent, purposeful/fulfilling employment, Graduation Dinner hosted by Humbled Hearts Recovery, move into permanent housing, embrace the opportunity to become a sponsor after one year of successful recovery: mentor and teach on the benefits of sobriety.

RESTORATION

A resident has completed the Humbled Hearts Recovery curriculum once they have successfully maintained Phase 4 for two months or more, achieved their recovery goals, and have become stable enough in their recovery to support themselves without the sober living residence. Residents in Phase 4 will be expected to abide by the same expectations as Phase 3 with the additional privilege of curfew extension until they acquire permanent housing.
